April Updates

Mar 28, 2023

Friends,

In just a while we’ll enter into the holiest week in the Christian year. Here at Calvary, we’ll have a number of offerings that are appropriate and accessible to all ages, and you and your families are warmly invited to attend. Our Maundy Thursday foot-washing service is especially poignant to me as a caregiver, as I remember in a very tangible way the sort of love, care, and compassion that Jesus pours out upon us, and how we are called to treat one another in light of that love. Each of the services of Holy Week invite prayerful reflection and allow participants to enter into the great mystery of Easter in a new and profound way. If you’d like to learn more about the Holy Week services we are offering please let me know.

A few dates to put on your radar this month:
On Thursday, April 13th from 11:30-12:30 we will be continuing our collaboration with Encompass Adoptees. In this virtual lunchtime gathering, we’ll be exploring the fourth chapter of the book “Childhood Disrupted: How Your Biography Becomes Your Biology and How You Can Heal” by Donna Jackson Nakazawa. A training certificate will be provided.

On Saturday April 15th from 10:00-11:30 we will be joining forces with Imago Nature Center in Price Hill for a family hike and service day followed by a picnic lunch. If you’ve never been to Imago, you are in for a treat — it is a magical place! Please RSVP using this link.

On Sunday, April 16th, Calvary will be hosting a newcomer celebration. All Brood families are welcome to attend our all-ages worship service at 9:15 to be celebrated as part of our larger parish community! If you’ve been curious about Calvary and/or are looking for a family-friendly, inclusive worship space designed with children in mind, you’d be most welcome!

Our Zoom support group will meet on Wednesday, April 26th from 8-9pm. A training credit certificate will be provided. This is an informal, supportive space.

I hope you can join us. In the meantime, reach out if we can support you in any way. I love hearing from you.

Peace,

Rev. Olivia
