It’s almost back to school time! Keep our Calvary young people (and parents and teachers!) in your prayers as they return to school for another year.
With the return of school, Youth Group and Fearless Tweens will also return to their normal schedule, and we get to be in the newly renovated Youth Room! We have a series of events to get things back up and running:
August 17 – Blessing of the Backpacks – Bring your backpack to be blessed at our Sunday services.
August 24 – Youth Group and Fearless Tween Parent Meeting @4pm in the Discipleship Center – This meeting will be a chance to get your child signed up for the programs, get the calendar, ask questions, and share your hopes and dreams for your child’s formation and discipleship. Can’t make the meeting on August 24th? Reach out to Stephanie Townes directly (stephanie@calvaryclifton.org) and we will get your youth signed up and fill you in on all the details.
August 24 – Youth Acolyte Training @4pm in the church
September 7 – Youth Group Kick Off @10am in the new Youth Room and then every Sunday morning following for youth in grades 6-12.
September 7 – Fearless Tweens Kick Off @4-5:30pm and then every 1st and 3rd Sundays for students in grades 4-5.
I look forward to building on the incredible foundation of youth programming that has been laid here at Calvary. The Youth Group will continue with the Journey to Adulthood programming, and for the Fearless Tweens, we will be working around some of the important questions young people wrestle with: who am I? Who is God to me? Where do I belong? What is my purpose? And of course there will be fun for both groups!
Are you a Calvary adult who doesn’t have children in this age group but would like to help make all this happen? Reach out to Stephanie Townes (stephanie@calvaryclifton.org) and we’ll find a place for you to serve. We could always use extra adults to help on Sundays, at other scheduled events, or as part of our planning team!
