As we move from Epiphany to Lent, Calvary was not short of pre-Lenten festivities to keep the gloom of deep winter at bay!

A beautiful service of ancient texts of prayer and praise sung by the Christ Church Cathedral Choir and the Calvary Episcopal Church Choir. Music included “O Gracious Light” and the Magnificat and Nunc dimittis in B-flat by Howard Helvey and Harold Darke’s “Christ, Whose Glory Fills the Skies.”

Bakers guided participants through a hands on tutorial on the hows of making and baking Calvary’s communion bread.

Burning of the Palms at Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper

Calvary Church’s Shrove Tuesday talent show was a joyful celebration filled with music, dance, and fellowship. The evening featured impressive performances on the violin, clarinet, and cello, along with an exciting flag dance. Attendees enjoyed a delicious dinner, sharing laughter and community spirit. The night concluded with the traditional burning of the palms, marking the transition into Lent. A wonderful time was had by all!
