Revisiting Beginnings
This past Sunday, Rev. Allison had a chance to preach and celebrate at her sponsoring parish, Church of the Ascension in Sierra Madre, CA. She just happened to be visiting on their Feast Day – Ascension Sunday! Members of the discernment committee and the Vestry and Rector who sponsored her were all present .
Her mentor, the Rev. Canon Michael Bamberger (pictured), was a vital part of Allison’s discernment for holy orders in the church. This is the only time Allison will serve in worship during sabbatical leave. She made this exception joyfully, returning 16 years after her ordination to thank those who supported her vocation in her sponsoring parish.
Allison served as their ministry study intern from 2006-2008.
