Dear Friends in Christ,
The author Julia Cameron once wrote, “When we move toward our own creativity, we move toward our Creator.” As I began laying the groundwork for Fearless, our new ministry for tweens ages 9-12, this quote helped to refine my vision. I hope Fearless will be a place where tweens can:
- Feel free to express and explore all aspects of spirituality including their spiritual strengths and struggles.
- Ask honest questions, and in doing so, grow in faithfulness and compassion.
- Engage in new and familiar forms of creative expression (painting, sewing, baking, building) in order to grow closer to our Creator.
- Experience the inclusive love of Christ through relationship with one another and with adult volunteers from Calvary who will serve as guides and “creative content experts.”
Fearless will meet outdoors on Sunday afternoons from 4:00-6:30 at Calvary. Each week, we’ll have time for fellowship and snacks before diving into our creative projects.
