The Rt. Reverend Nedi Rivera and Aaron Leonard — both members of our parish — have agreed to serve in part-time interim roles at Calvary. They will help carry forward the energy Rev. Olivia brought to youth ministry, worship, preaching, outreach, and the work of building Beloved Community.

The Rt. Rev. Nedi Rivera will serve at Calvary in a part-time capacity—primarily on Sundays, with a few additional hours during the week—as Interim Assisting Clergy. In this role, she will support the rector and contribute to our life together through her creative gifts in worship and preaching, her passion for outreach, and her dedication to building Beloved Community.

Nedi was ordained deacon in 1975, priest in 1979 and served congregations in Ross, Salinas and San Francisco, California . She was elected Bishop Suffragan of the Diocese of Olympia (Western Washington) in 2005. In 2010, became (halftime) bishop of Eastern Oregon, (and assistant bishop in Southern Ohio) where she served until she retired in 2016.

Nedi and Bob live in Northside in a house that’s way too big and too old for old people without home repair skills, and dotes on her children and grandchildren.

Aaron Leonard is stepping into a new role as our part-time Interim Youth Formation Director. Aaron is also no stranger to Calvary—he currently serves as the Family Service Musician and volunteers with our youth group. Aaron is passionate about helping young people connect with Christ, themselves, and others, and we are excited to see how his leadership will nurture and grow our youth ministries.
