I am delighted to share some exciting news about the future of ministry at Calvary.
The Diocese of Southern Ohio has appointed Stephanie Townes to serve as Calvary’s Curate for the next two years following her ordination. Stephanie will begin her full-time curacy with us on July 1, serving in a role similar to that of an associate clergy person while continuing to grow in her ordained ministry.
Many of you already know Stephanie through her faithful leadership and deep commitment to our parish. In her new role, she will continue to oversee Youth Ministries, coordinate Calvary’s Invite, Welcome, Connect efforts, and take on an expanded role in worship leadership, preaching, pastoral care, and other aspects of parish life.
Stephanie’s service as Calvary’s Youth Minister formally concludes on June 30. Beginning July 1, she will transition into her new role as Curate. We are especially grateful that the Diocese of Southern Ohio is providing the primary funding for this curacy, making it possible for Calvary to continue benefiting from Stephanie’s gifts and leadership while supporting her formation as a priest.
Please join me in giving thanks for Stephanie’s ministry among us and in praying for her as she prepares for ordination to the Transitional Diaconate on July 21 and this exciting new chapter. We are blessed to be part of her journey and look forward to all that God will do through her ministry in the years ahead.
Faithfully,
The Reverend Allison English
Rector
