Sunday, October 8
4:00 p.m. Church Yard
This season is known in some Christian circles as “Creationtide.” The season culminates with the Feast of St. Francis, which is on October 4. This is a season to give thanks to God for the blessings of creation, for the harvest, and for the created order.
All creatures great and small are warmly invited to this year’s Blessing of the Animals, where we will celebrate and bless our pets. Meet in the church yard out front for a short liturgy and time of blessing and fellowship at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 8.
Most high, omnipotent, good Lord, grant your people grace to renounce gladly the vanities of this world; that, following the way of blessed Francis, we may, for love of you, delight in your whole creation with perfectness of joy; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
