On Sunday in both the 9:15 and 11am services we gathered in prayer, lifting up our hopes and intentions for the new school year. We prayed that children and teachers alike would be filled with wonder and curiosity, that our schools would be places of welcome and safety for all, and that God would instill in each person a love of learning and a desire to make schools and universities places of love and light. We blessed each backpack and prayed that they would be for those who carry them a reminder of the prayers and presence of the Calvary community. At a time of year that can be high stress for many families it was great to gather and to remember that God is with us as we begin a new school year.
