WOW! Last weekend’s outpouring of generosity was nothing short of inspiring! Thanks to the compassionate hearts at Calvary, over 100 gifts for five families currently living in shelter were lovingly collected, packed, and delivered to Bethany House Services – an organization dedicated to guiding families experiencing homelessness toward stability and a fresh start.
Bethany House’s holiday efforts are part of a broader suite of community-driven initiatives that bring joy, comfort, and dignity to families facing housing insecurity each year. Their holiday programs include Adopt-A-Family, where community members sponsor families and fulfill wish lists; Winter Wonderland, a special confidential gift drive for families living in shelter; and Bethany Basics, which provides baskets of essential household items for families as they transition into their own homes.
Families in shelter were invited to create personal wish lists for themselves and their children, often including very practical items like clothing, household necessities, and even mattresses – things that make a real difference in day-to-day life. One child thoughtfully requested gift cards to save toward a bed for their family, a reminder that hope can look like the smallest, most heartfelt wish. These gifts go far beyond holiday cheer – they support families living through extremely difficult circumstances and help them move toward long-term stability.
Thanks to your generosity, four cars were packed to the brim, every seat and cargo space filled with gifts that will brighten the holidays for these families. The thoughtful contributions truly reflect the spirit of community and care that Bethany House cultivates each season.
