Twelve children ages 7-10 gathered at Calvary last Sunday to train as Acolytes. Among them were seasoned Acolytes Xander Berger & Desmond Dematteo. The ten other children will start serving as Torch Bearers this Sunday in worship.
The enthusiasm was palpable as the children learned about the role of baptized ministers in worship. The afternoon ended with each child trying on their acolyte robe.
On Pentecost Sunday, June 5, we’ll share in one service of worship and commission our Acolytes for service. What a joy to welcome these youngest worship ministers into the leadership in the Choral Eucharist.
